Our guides Diego and Antonio were great: very knowledgeable, perfectly bilingual (Spanish and English), polite, energetic and fun. Deep rural Spain. 1 hour east from Madrid in the Castille La Mancha region. Don Quixote land. The private caves on my property situated right below the Moorish 10th Century Castle. (You can't do this without me!). I show you the secret tunnels where the people escaped when the castle was under attack. I also show hidden spots along the river Tagus. The food tastings are in my home, the only house left built in the castle grounds.

You will stay either in the village hotel or in a cosy cottage, <a target='_blank' href="https://casaruralarabela.com">Casa Arabella</a>. There are<a target="_blank" href="https://www.posadadezoritadeloscanes.com/copia-de-alquiler-por-habitaciones">&nbsp;16 en-suite double rooms, and triples, all with A/C. The rooms&nbsp;</a>were refurbished last year and most have stunning river views. There are 2 terraces to enjoy &amp; it's only a 5 minute walk to the riverside. Single room occupancy option is available with a small supplement. Equally we offer a discount for triple room occupancy. &nbsp;

How to I get to the retreat from Madrid?We are one of the most accessible rural retreats in Europe. The airport is just one hour from our retreat village Zorita de los Canes. All the low cost airlines operate dozens of flights a day . The two Madrid main train stations , Atocha and Chamartín are only a 15 minute taxi ride to the retreat pick up point in the centre of the city .Book your private shuttle service available to all our guests. Pick up point is on the east side of Retiro Park at 10:00 every Monday for our guests on the 5 day retreat. The journey to the village is just over 1 hour and costs just 50€

Ian’s retreat has amazing karma.I felt calmer, fitter, and a week later I am still thinking of my time there.Ian and his team did everything possible to make this retreat enjoyable. Set in a lovely village beneath an ancient castle, along the banks of the river Tegas. I would love to return.
